Every Monday during the month of September Trailnet offers guided bike rides on the Great Rivers Greenway's River Ring Network beginning Monday, September 7th at 6pm. Attendees can participate in a ride in South St. Louis County along Grant’s Trail, which lies within the Gravois Greenway. The ride will run from the entrance at Kirkwood Trailhead to the U.S. Grant Historic Site and back for a total ride of 5.8 miles. Registration begins at 5:30 at the Kirkwood Trailhead at Holmes and Leffingwell. Ride departs at 6 pm. There will be a brief “fix-a-flat” lesson offered between 5:30 and 6 p.m. For details, please call.

Liberty Village Homeless Veterans Housing will host Ignite the Night 5K run and After Party on Saturday, September 19th at Fairbanks Park in Terre Haute. Packet pick-up begins at 6pm and the race at 8pm. Registration is needed by August 31st to have a custom imprinted tshirt. Sign-up can be done online. Families in Need Organization will host the 4th Annual Pocket Full of Love 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, September 20th at 3pm at the Labor Pavilion of the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds in Du Quoin. Proceeds from this years Charity 5K Run/Walk will again benefit our Families in Need Organization. The cost varies from $5-$15 for these prices registration and payment must be made by September 4th. The 2nd Annual Foodie 5K for the Northern Illinois Food Bank will take place Saturday, October 3rd at 9am at Chicagoland Speedway, 500 Speedway Boulevard in Joliet. Mattoon Area Family YMCA, 221 16th St in Mattoon, will host the Last Chance Tri on Sunday, October 4th 1pm. Registration for an individual or team (2-3 members) is online. The Macon County Health Department will offer an evidence-based Diabetes Self-Management Program at the SIU School of Medicine Family Physicians Office, 250 W. Kenwood Ave in Decatur, beginning Tuesday, October 6th at 2:30pm. Classes are two and a half hours once a week for six weeks, are free and open to all those affected by diabetes, including family members and caregivers. The Run 4 Babies 5K will take place on Saturday, October 17th at 9am at Crystal Lake Park in Urbana. This event will support of Living Alternatives. There will be a fun run for children before the 5K starts at 9am. The race is the first in the Love Never Fails Circuit. Registration is $25 before October 15th.
