Come and join us to view the Arthur Fireworks show at the First Apostolic church of Arthur. 320 Surrey Lane in Arthur. Parking is free. Starting at 5 PM we will be selling Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Nachos, Cheese Fries, Popcorn and Ice Cream. With a cold pop or water to wash it down. We also will have a bounce house for children. This event is happening on Saturday, June 29th.

Join us at the Champaign County Nursing Home, 500 Art Bartell Rd., Urbana IL, on Thursday, July 4 for the annual "One Nation Under God" children's Independence Day parade! Children and adults alike dress up in patriotic costumes and parade through the halls of the nursing home, bringing a 4th of July celebration to the residents right where they are. The more enthusiastic children will hand out American flags, God Bless America flags, and magnets to the residents. The parade steps off at 10am, rain or shine, and finishes in about an hour. Games and contests will begin at 9am.

Area residents are invited to enjoy the 4th of July Holiday from one of the best venues in town. Visitors of the Malcolm W. Martin Memorial Park can access the 43-foot-tall Mississippi River Overlook viewing platform; check out the Gateway Geyser when scheduled eruptions blast 8,000 gallons of water a minute 600 feet into the sky, matching the height of the Gateway Arch; and watch the Fair Saint Louis Air Shows set for noon and 4 p.m.  Other family-friendly activities will get underway each evening starting at 5 p.m. For a schedule of event please go online.
