MOPS (Thu. Apr 24, 2014 9:15 am - 11:15 am)

Mothers of children ages birth through kindergarten are invited to join our MOPS group to build friendships, be encouraged by each other, and gain practical parenting strategies. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at Messiah Lutheran Church, corner of Jefferson and Houbolt in Joliet. Moms share brunch while their children are lovingly cared for in the Moppets program with age-appropriate activities and snacks. Please call, email or go online for details or to RSVP.

MOMS TOGETHER of the First Baptist Church of Geneva West Campus, 3435 Keslinger Road in Geneva, IL, welcomes Cheryl Pacilio on Thursday, April 10 and Thursday, April 24 as she presents "From ME to WE: Breaking the Cycle of Entitlement in our Kids" from 9:15-11:15am. Learn some practical ways to parcel out chores, link rewards with effort and give your kids a bigger view of their place in the world of work and worth. Childcare is available for a small fee. Rockin' Round the Clock Rockathon (Thu. Apr 24, 2014 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm)

Sunnymere Assisted Living, 925 Sixth Ave in Aurora, will be hosting a  “Rockin' Round the Clock Rockathon" on April 24th from 3:30 – 5:30pm.This fundraiser is to help fix the Antique Grandfather Clock at Sunnymere. We are asking those who participate to collect a minimum of $10 each. Please between the hours of 8am and 2pm to let us know if you can participate or for more infomation.

Shoe Drive (Thu. Apr 24, 2014 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

The Junior League of Champaign-Urbana and Body N Sole are organizing a shoe drive during the Illinois Marathon to benefit local charitable partners.  The Junior League will be collecting new or gently used shoes, infant through adult sizes, at the Body N Sole Booth during the Health and Fitness Expo on Thursday, April 24 and Friday, April 25 during registration hours. The final collection will take place on Saturday, April 26 at the “27th Mile” and the post-race concert at Krannert in Urbana IL. Donated shoes will be distributed by the United Way of Champaign County to the organizations in need throughout the Champaign-Urbana community. For more information, please go online. 

Spring Fundraising Event (Thu. Apr 24, 2014 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm)

The 14th and Chestnut Community Center is hosting their Spring Fundraising Event on Thursday, April 24th at 6pm at the Sycamore Banquet Center in Terre Haute. A banquet and silent auction will be held for the Center as it provides Christian based after school activities and meals for children in kindergarten through high school. Open Door Faithtalk (Thu. Apr 24, 2014 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm)

Open Door Faithtalk, held at 121 E. McEvilly Road Minooka, IL, is a diverse discussion group. We encourage guests to come with whatever questions or topics they would like to discuss. If a person is interested in learning about and growing closer to God, but not quite interested in or ready for church this is an ideal setting. 9 to 5ers Ladies Group (Thu. Apr 24, 2014 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm)

Join the 1st Christian Church of Effingham, 901 Henrietta St in Effingham,  join the ladies for the support group the 9 to 5ers on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7pm. There is no book or need to prepare. Come to be blessed. Please call or go online for details.

Women's Great Banquet (Thu. Apr 24, 2014 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm)

The Women's Great Banquet is a 3 day event Thursday-Sunday, April 24th-27th at the Lampstand Presbyterian Church, 655 S. Airport Rd in Decatur IL. There is no cost except a $15 application fee. It starts Thursday evening at 7 p.m. and ends Sunday evening at 7 p.m. You will sleep at the church facility and this includes all of your meals.
