Becoming A Christian
You can receive Jesus as your Savior by following these simple steps:
Admit your need (I am a sinner).
For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard. (Romans 3:23)
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8)
Be willing to turn from your sins (repent).
"But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong." (I John 1:9).
Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. (John 3:16-17)
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (Receive Him as Lord and Savior.)
For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)
Once you've accepted Jesus as Savior, be assured of your salvation!
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. (1 John 1:9)
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. (1 John 5:13)
