Monday, March 19/ Day 10
Isaiah 43:2: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
RESILIENCE: The word that comes to mind with that verse; resilience. According to one definition it states “resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness”. With this verse; we are reminded that that is His gift to us. Resilience. We will pass through hard times; and difficulties He promises to be with you. Praying that would give you courage to face whatever you are facing. Knowing the Lord has given you “toughness” to ability to walk through those hard times and He promises He will be with you. The flames will not set you ablaze. Today; praying that the Lord would show you someone that needs that reminder today? That you can share this verse with that person. Today we pray for the week ahead as our fund drive kicks off; would you be in prayer with us? Would you be in prayer with us and for as at WBGL as we will be in prayer with you.
Sunday, March 18/ Day 9
2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
COMFORT: Have you ever faced a hardship that you thought you would never recover from? But somehow in midst of that hardship…God met you where you were at…and gave you such comfort even at a time when did not make sense to have comfort? He wants us to recall those times…when we received comfort. Those times where He met you during your pain; the time Lord just showed up with His comfort; with His compassion. Perhaps it was in the form of friends He called to your side. When we can recall the comfort we ourselves received we can then we can comfort others in similar situations. Recall the Father’s touch in that time; so you may be comfort to someone else just as He comforted you. Praying that the Lord would comfort you today. Praying He would use you to comfort others just as you were comforted.
Saturday, March 17/ Day 8
Titus 3:4&5 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
MERCY: Praise God for His mercy! He saved us NOT because of anything we have done…but because of His mercy. Where would you be without His mercy? It’s hard to fathom. It’s a soothing thought to know we serve a God who has great compassion on us; who has mercy on us. Today praying that we can take time to meditate on those words. Meditate on His great mercy for us. Let us give thanks to the Lord today for His great mercy. IT really should move us to tears to think of the great mercy; compassion the Lord has for us! Do you know that is need of His great compassion and mercy today? Praying today that you know the kindness; love of our God and may your spirit be renewed today and refreshed.
Friday, March 16/ Day 7
Romans 12:10-13 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
SERVE OTHERS: We are asked to be devoted to one another in love. In fact not only are we asked to do this…we are asked to do this “never lacking zeal”…never lacking great energy or enthusiasm; but keep your spiritual fervor. Fervor is defined as “intensity of feeling or expression” according to Webster’s dictionary. When you see the meanings of the words here…you get the point that we are called to love one another; serve one another with passion and great enthusiasm! What is the Lord asking you today to do? Who is He asking you to serve? Praying you would hear His voice; follow His lead. Praying you would be able to do this with enthusiasm and be “joyful in hope; Patient in affliction and faithful in prayer” . Today let’s serve and love with great zeal!
Thursday, March 15/ Day 6
James 1:17 “Every Good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
NEVER CHANGING: Thank you Lord that you are the giver of good gifts! He never changes! He does not change like “shifting shadows” or another translation “Whom there is no variation of shadow due to change” (ESV). What a comfort to know now only is He the giver of all good gifts...He does not change. What a comfort to know that! Praying today that no matter what is happening in our lives; He never changes. He is the giver of all gifts. That is something to smile about!
Wednesday, March 14/ Day 5
Psalm 107:8 & 9 “Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind. for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”
UNFAILING: Have you ever tried to go through a day just thanking the Lord for everything? Even the little things? If you have tried that; you know your perspective shifts; your mood changes. It’s quite amazing! It is hard to not be thankful when we think of these verses with words like “unfailing love”; “wonderful deeds”. Just to think about that for a moment...His unfailing Love. Wow...it cause a smile to break on your face. His love is unfailing. Thank you Lord for all you do! Thank you for your unfailing love! Thank you Lord for your unfailing love! Thank you that you satisfy us with good things! Today Lord, let us share that message of unfailing love with someone who needs to be reminded of that promise.
Tuesday, March 13th/ Day 4
Colossians 3:16 “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
GRATITUDE: What a great word; verse to start the day with! In the New Living Translation is says “Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives”. What a picture that is! It take some pressure off of “us” to remind us if we are trying to help a friend...it is not our wisdom we need to rely on; but the Lord’s wisdom. He gives it to us! It is so important to have thankfulness and gratitude in our hearts. It really helps to change perspective. And have you noticed singing praises to the Lord really helps to have a heart full of gratitude? Let this be a turned into a prayer today: “Lord let your words of Christ fill my heart today! Let me teach and have wisdom from you for anyone I need to teach or counsel today! Give me your wisdom Lord! Let me sing your praises today Lord and let me have a thankful heart and heart of gratitude for ALL you have done for me and all you will do!”
Monday, March 12th/ Day 3
Psalm 3:3 “But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high”
SHIELD: Thank you Lord...you are a shield around us! According to Webster’s dictionary definition - a shield is “one that protects or defends; is a part that serves as a protective cover or barrier”. That definition is amazing...that is what this verse reminder that The Lord acts as our “protective barrier”; He “defends” us. He lifts our heads. Praying today you are encouraged to be reminded of these words!
Sunday, March 11th/ Day 2
1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing”
ENCOURAGEMENT: Do we need to encourage one another? Yes! We sure do. EVERYONE of us needs encouragement at some point. I discovered in doing a search the word “encourage” is mentioned over a 100 times in the new testament! I would say the point trying to get across is encouragement is vital in our Faith walk with Jesus. Ask the Lord today…who around you is in need of encouragement? He will lead you. Even If we are in a hard place; encouraging others actually will help US in the hard place feel better. Praying you are encouraged today and that you can encourage others and build each other up.
Saturday, March 10th/ Day 1
Matthew 19:26 “Jesus looked at them and said “with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”
POSSIBLE: Praise God that with Him all things are possible! What an amazing promise. An amazing thought. We can look at a situation and think this is not going to work…it is impossible! Isn’t is amazing to know that the Lord’s perspective…of the same situation is so different?! Today praying that you will be reminded with God…ALL things are possible. Praying He would fill you with His hope today.
