10 Days of Prayer

As it gets closer to WBGL's Fundraiser, we want to make sure we seek God for his guidance for this ministry of music and community!

Join us in a journey of prayer! Weez, Assistant Music Director and Promotions Team Member has given you verses and written short reflections for you to join us in. We hope they bless you!


Day 10/March 27th/ Colossians 2:6, 7 (NLT)

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him; let your lives be built on him. Then your faith with grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” 

When you are looking to own a house, you have an inspector check to make sure the foundation is strong.  A house has to have a strong foundation. Have you inspected your “foundation” of faith lately? Are you growing? Everything that grows has roots.  All living plants must have water for the seed to sprout roots. I see that correlation with our faith as well. We have to have our roots grow down deep into Him. Faith is like the water that allows those roots to grow. 

Today, praying that your faith would be strong. That you would grow as your roots grow down into Him; praying that your lives would be built on Him. May your faith grow strong May you overflow with thankfulness!  

We are so thankful for you,for your prayers. Thank you for taking part of this journey of 10 days of prayer with us! Today, the day before the Spring Fundraiser would you also join us in praying for our many volunteers that will be traveling in, for our staff, for our listeners? Would you continue to pray that our ministry would continue to let our roots grow deep! Also pray that we as a ministry would “overflow with thankfulness”.

Sunday, March 26/Day 9/1 John 5:14

1 John 5:14 “this is the confidence we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us”

Whatever is going on in our lives, when we approach God and ask according to His will He HEARS us! That verse should stop you to smile to know that whatever you are going through when you approach God and talk to Him, He hears you. How deep is His love for us- that He hears us. He listens. He sees. So approach Him with confidence, knowing when we are asking according to His will, He hears us. Those 3 words bring comfort to my soul. 

Saturday, March 25/Day 8/John 14:27

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”

Oh how we need His peace! Don’t take the cheap imitation of the peace the world is offering you. The peace He offers is true peace. His peace is lasting. Yes, we need His peace. Praying today that your heart would not be troubled, that you would not be afraid as you allow His peace to fill you.  

Friday, March 24th/Day 7/Romans 12:1-2 (the Message)

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”

Sometimes you read a scripture as if it were the first time you are reading it! It may be one you have read countless other times. Stopping and reflecting this verse, I had to ask myself: Am I placing all I do before God as an offering? Have I become so well adjusted to this culture where I fit right in and not even think about it? I want to be transformed by Him. That is our prayer: to be changed from the inside out. Lord- bring the best out of us today!

March 23rd/Day 6/Philippians 4:19

Philippians 4:19 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Thank you Lord that you meet our needs! Paul declares this statement with such confidence as he had seen God provide His needs. Looking deeper I really like the explanation according to Barnes’s notes on the Bible “His inexhaustible ability to supply their needs.” That word “inexhaustible ability” wow. HE doesn’t tire of meeting our needs!! God can meet ALL of our needs and He does! 

Praying today that the Lord would meet all of our needs. He knows just what you need. Thank you Lord that you are “inexhaustible” in supplying our needs. 

March 22nd/Day 5/Isaiah 30:21

Isaiah 30:21 “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

I love the reminder of this verse- that God leads us. So many examples in the Bible of how the Lord has led His people. We can have confidence He will lead us. Have you had those times? When you were not sure which way to walk? Where is the Lord leading you today? Praying you would be led by Him. Praying you would hear His voice in your heart telling you “this is the way, walk in it”.

March 21st/Day 4/Micah 6:8

“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and walk humbly with your God?” 

Seems like a simple concept: act justly, love mercy and kindness, walk humbly with your God. Have I truly “loved kindness”, chosen kindness? Have I acted justly? Am I walking humbly with the Lord? These are great questions to ask ourselves. Today let’s ask God that He would help us do what HE has already shown us. Ask the Lord to help us act justly, love kindness, and walk humbly with Him. Praying today He would help us do these things.

March 20th/Day 3/Isaiah 41:10

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Honestly life can be difficult at times. When facing trials that seem so overwhelming fear can be an easy place to land on. But the Lord says "Do not fear" BECAUSE HE IS WITH YOU. Isn’t that a sigh of relief? He will strengthen you, He will help you. I love the word “uphold”. Webster Dictionary defines “uphold” as this: to give support to, to keep elevated. I love that picture- whatever we are facing, he will help “keep us elevated”. Friend, I pray that can be an encouragement to your weary soul, that the Lord would elevate you and support you in this time.

March 19th/Day 2/2 Corinthians 4:16 

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”

Losing heart, it's so easy to come to that place when life happens. Stress knocks at your door, tragedy strikes, health fails. Ever ask yourself “but HOW do I not lose heart?” It seems more “easier said than done”.  Not losing heart doesn’t mean to forget what’s going on and move on, it doesn’t mean to ignore what’s happening. It means keep your hope in the Lord.

“…We are being renewed day by day”. Don’t miss the last part of this verse! Reread that! When we trust the Lord, He is showing us HE renews us day by day no matter what is happening with us or around us. Praying this verse would encourage you today. Lord, thank you that you renew us day by day, thank you Lord that we don’t have to lose heart!

March 18th/Day 1/Ephesians 3:16-18

“I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ”

There was an incredibly windy day. I was watching a couple of big trees in my backyard. The branches were being tossed back and forth in the wind. These were strong winds. I asked myself: "What keeps that tree sturdy?" It’s the roots. Roots buried deep in the ground beyond what your eye can see. The roots keep that tree sturdy. Much like our faith in Christ, our roots need to go deep. We need to be rooted so deep that when the winds of life come, our roots are evident. Today praying that you are being rooted and established in love! Praying that you would grasp how wide, long, high and deep the love of Christ is!
