10 Days of Prayer

WBGL is a listener supported radio ministry, and we exist because of your generous financial support. Our Spring Fundraiser starts Tuesday, April 9th, and we want to prepare for this time by praying and seeking God's help.

You are invited to join us during these 10 Days of Prayer for WBGL. Below you will find devotional thoughts and scriptures that some of the WBGL staff have shared. Thank you for taking the time to pray with us.

Saturday, March 30: Fear Not

Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

We live in fearful times. So many things are shouting “be afraid” to us at the top of their lungs. It’s easy to be afraid, but it’s important to take God at His Word. Psalm 23:4 is as much for you as it is for me. I hope that this verse helps you to take that deep breath you may really need, today. God Bless!

Sunday, March 31: God Will Provide

Romans 8:32 “So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?”

Prayer is a place where we can go. We go and find a God who has provided a bottomless well of provision built on the greatest of all sacrifices: Love!

Monday, April 1: Don’t Worry

Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

I remember memorizing this verse as a kid with my mom and my siblings. It seems so easy as a child to pray and not worry. Now, as a mother and an adult, I find myself all too often worrying instead of praying about something. This verse reminds us to pray in EVERY situation and about everything. I also love how Paul says, "with thanksgiving." It is much harder to worry and be anxious when we are thanking God for what he has already done and will yet do. So today, don't worry, pray with thanksgiving, and let God take care of the rest.

Tuesday, April 2: He Cares

Matthew 10: 30 & 31 “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. “

The thought that the Lord loves us so much that HE knows THE VERY number of hairs on our heads! Have you ever tried to count the number of hairs on your head? For most of us that would be next to impossible. He knows everything about us; He loves us that deeply. Friend; He knows the number of hairs on your head! Thank you Lord for how deeply you love us!

Wednesday, April 3: God Given Gifts

1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

We all have a gift, given by God, and it is just waiting to be opened and given to others. When we serve others with our gift, it can help them experience the Grace of God in this life. Each day is an opportunity to share and experience the deep love and grace only found in our Heavenly Father. Today please pray we are able to be faithful stewards and share the gift of God’s grace given to each one of us.

Thursday, April 4: Peace and Hope

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

So many prayer requests come into our prayer center speaking of the need for peace in stressful situations. These requests are from people in dire need of hope. Romans 15:13 is a perfect prayer for us in those times of need! Today, pray that the God of hope fill you with ALL JOY AND PEACE as you trust in him, so that YOU may OVERFLOW with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit! Amen!

Friday, April 5: He Knows

Nahum 1:7 (AMP) “The Lord is good, A strength and stronghold in the day of trouble;
He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him.”

I was just talking to Liz who is 11 years sober, a single mom, and drives 54 miles every day to work at a grocery store. She says that listening to WBGL gets her through her day. But really, I think what she means by that is that Jesus gets her through her day. Because the songs, the conversations here...are about Jesus. According to Nahum 1:7, Jesus Christ is the one who knows, recognizes, cares for, and understands you fully.

Saturday, April 6: Do Good

Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up”

I encourage you to do what God's word says today: do not give up. Do not quit. Keep pressing into Him to do good. Even when it can get tiring and draining. Keep doing good. Let’s encourage each other to press in... lean in to do more good. It is so needed right now. Do not give up. Lord, Help us to not grow weary in doing good. Help us to do more. Help us to rely on you and not give up.

Sunday, April 7: Family

Colossians 1:3-5 "We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love that you have for all the saints, because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before, in the word of the truth, the gospel."

I think it is pretty amazing that we have a built-in family when we become followers of Christ. We are part of a bigger community of believers. Whether you live in a big city, or out in the middle of nowhere, no matter your age, nationality, economic status; when we are in Christ, we are all brothers and sisters. So today, I pray that you remember you are not alone. You have a family in Christ.

Monday, April 8: A New Thing

Isaiah 43:19 “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Maybe you are in need of a new thing in your life today? I pray you can perceive the new thing He is doing! What a wonderful picture to know HE makes a way in the wilderness! Where is the Lord making a way for you in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland? He cares so much for us; that He makes a way! Praying the Lord would bring encouragement to you today; that you may see all He is doing; all He is preparing for you today in Jesus name!
