10 Days of Prayer

for Fall Fundraiser 2020

WBGL is a listener supported radio ministry, and we exist because of your generous financial support. Our Fall Fundraiser starts Tuesday, October 27th, and we want to prepare for this time by praying and seeking God's help.

You are invited to join us during these 10 Days of Prayer at WBGL. Thank you for taking the time to pray with us before the fall fundraiser begins.

DAY ONE, Oct. 17: Unshakable

Hebrews 12:28-29 “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our 'God is a consuming fire.'

We put our trust, our hope in the firm foundation of Jesus! We are thankful for the unshakable hope that we have in Jesus! His kingdom cannot be shaken! HE is so worthy to be praised! Today, let’s take some time to thank the Lord for giving us a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Yes Lord, we are thankful! Today, let the Lord empower you with boldness from the Holy Spirit.

DAY TWO, Oct. 18: He Sings Over Us

Zephaniah 3:17

"The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing.”

What a great picture. Did you realize the Lord sings over you? The Lord as our Mighty Warrior who takes delight in us, who SINGS over us! How humbling to think of The Lord singing over His beloved children. Thank you, Lord, that you sing over us! Today, let’s pray asking the Lord to remind us of who He is. The Mighty Warrior who saves and sings over us. As we think of the songs on WBGL going out to so many, songs of worship to our God and songs that deliver hope to those in need. He sings over us!

DAY THREE, Oct. 19: Cast

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”

Have you ever gone fishing casting your line out into the water? The definition of cast is to throw (something) forcefully in a specified direction. What a picture this gives us of casting our cares on the Lord. Forcefully throwing our cares as far as we can, surrendering to the Lord. Cast your cares on Him as he cares for you. Thank you, Lord, that we can throw our cares on you and YOU will sustain us! Lord, thank you for the constant reminders that you are in control and we are never alone!

DAY FOUR, Oct. 20: Peace

2 Thessalonians 3:16 “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

Do you feel overwhelmed by the weight of stress? This verse is such a reminder that God wants to POUR His peace on you in every situation! Today, may the Lord pour His peace into you! May you feel the Lord’s tangible presence today. Today Lord, may we be constantly reminded of Your peace! May we carry peace to all of those we encounter!

DAY FIVE, Oct. 21: Faith

Psalm 46:2-3 “Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

Faith is a gift from the Lord. What do we need to do in this hour? Look to Jesus. When our eyes are fixed on Him there is no fear. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of faith to know YOU will move these mountains into the sea! Lord, would you build up our faith today? Lord, today let our faith and trust in You rise!

DAY SIX, Oct. 22: Your Worth

Matthew 10:30-31 “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. ”

Lord, how deep is Your love that You know every hair on our head! Thank you, Lord, for how you care for us! Thank you for how you provide for the sparrows and that the worth you've placed on us is so much greater!

Today, take some time and think about the fact that God knows the very number of hairs on your head! Oh, how deep is His love for you! You are of great worth to the Lord!

DAY SEVEN, Oct. 23: Kindness

Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

So many are stressed and on edge. What is needed? The kindness of the Lord displayed through you and me. Today, let kindness rule your heart. Today, take some time to reflect on the fact that Christ forgave you and has given you the heart to forgive others. May the Lord give you opportunities today to display His kindness and His tenderheartedness.

DAY EIGHT, Oct. 24: Rest

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Are you in need of rest? Are you finding yourself constantly distracted? Are you finding that you are easily agitated? These may be signs that you’re in need of time with the Lord. Resting in the Lord is not so much physical rest but it is more taking time to rest in Him. Meditate on His voice. We need that time to hand over the heavy burdens we are carrying and allow God to carry them. We need time to be still before the Lord. Today, do not forget to take some rest in the Lord and hear what He is speaking to your heart.

DAY NINE, Oct. 25: Hope

Hebrews 6:19 “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.”

Webster’s Dictionary defines anchor as “a reliable or principal support." Jesus is our hope and He is a strong and trustworthy anchor for us! There is no stronger anchor than Jesus! When storms come look to Jesus Christ, your strong anchor. Thank you, Lord, that YOU are our hope and you are our anchor!

DAY TEN: Oct. 26: Love

1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud..”

As we read the words in the Bible telling us what love is, we are reminded of how much we need each other. We are also reminded of how important it is to love each other and show God’s kindness. The words to the song “Together” by For King & Country also speak to God's love being shown through His people to each other:

"If you're lookin' for hope tonight, raise your hand
If you're feelin' alone and don't understand
If you're fightin' in the fight of your life, then stand
We're gonna make it through this hand-in-hand

And if we fall
We will fall together
Together"

We are together in this life. We can make it through hand-in-hand and by loving each other as God calls us to. Lord, may we display Your love and your kindness wherever we go today and always!
