Compton Summer Fest (Sat. Jun 24, 2017 10:00 am - 7:00 pm)

Compton Summer Fest will be held on Saturday, June 24th from 10am-7pm at the Park in Compton. There will be a car cruise, family games, food, craft fair and more. The entry fee is $10 per person and it is sponsored by the Compton Community Club. For more details please go online.

Open door Bookstore, 3125 3rd Place in Terre Haute, will host a Book Signing with Dr. Muriel Drake Ryan, on Saturday, June 24th at 11am. She will be signing her book "Homeless I Have Know". Family Fun Fest & Fireworks (Sat. Jun 24, 2017 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm)

Hinckley Family FUN Fest and Fireworks will be held on Saturday, June 24th from 3-10pm at the Hinckley-Big Rock High School, 700 E Lincoln Hwy in Hinckley. ABC Supply will host the Stand Up 2 Hunger Food Drive and take donations the month of June. Donate canned and non-perishable food items to benefit our local Salvation Army. Home Repair Applications are currently being accepted for the week of Sunday-Saturday, July 8th-14th in Fayette County. The Group Mission Trip Workcamp will be the group doing those repairs at no cost. Applications are being processed now until July 7th. The process is limited to 80 homes across the area in need of painting and minor repair. To apply and for more details please call or email.

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum will host the 7th Inning Stretch on Saturday, July 15th at 1pm at the Union Square Park. Practice batting with water balloons as baseballs, and test pitching with different types of balls and targets. There will also be a catching competition. This is free event. The 10th Annual Chris Walk Night Out Against Substance Abuse will be held on Saturday, July 15th 4pm at Mt. Saint Mary Park, Prairie St. east of Rt. 31 in St. Charles. There will be a 1-mile memorial walk and the cos is $10 pre-registration and $15 day of the event. This is a family friendly event.  All donations go to local substance abuse prevention programs. Sycamore Manor, 222 S 25th St in Terre Haute, will host the Teddy Bear Picnic on Sunday, July 16th from 2-6pm. The Senior Education Ministries has developed this event and Sycamore Manor is hosting. The event is free, open to the public by bringing in new or gently used Teddy Bears to be given to those with Dementia and Alzheimers.
