Last year was probably one of the toughest years I’ve been through in quite a while. In a four month time span, our beloved family dog passed away from cancer, my long-time job was eliminated and I was sent to a different division at the company, then my mother passed away suddenly, and I resigned at work. Life felt like it was spinning out of control and I could do nothing to stop it. However, through the grace of God, a lot of tears and questioning, plus a TON of prayer, I made it through the darkest moments. I am beyond grateful for WBGL and the consistent connection to prayer, worship music, and encouragement to find peace during the pain and confusion of life.
During the time I spent being unemployed, I kept hearing “trust His timing” and to “wait patiently” for He is making a way. The first week of March 2025, I interviewed for another job. Not just a “job” but something within my career goals. I was hopeful because the interview went smoothly. On March 10th, which would have been my dad’s 88th birthday (he has been in heaven for 24 years), I found out I made it to the second round of interviews. What a day that was!!
A few days later I received notice that my unemployment benefits had ceased. Again I heard, “trust in His timing.” After the second interview, I was more hopeful and I again put it in God’s hands. On March 17th, I received a phone call with a job offer. A wave of blessings and gratitude for answered prayers washed over me. For the first time in a long time, I took to my knees to pray prayers of praise and thankfulness. I was so overwhelmed that I cried tears of joy.
Afterwards I turned on WBGL and the song playing was In The House by Crowder. The first line I heard was, “…bet you’ll wanna sing hallelujah, bet you’ll say an amen…” Chills ran through me. I looked up and said thank you and HALLELUJAH with tears in my eyes. I can honestly say this was ALL God. I never stopped praying, trusting, and believing. I truly believe in the power of prayer and to trust in His timing. All things work for your good even though you cannot see it at the time. This new job definitely came at the right time. To say my heart is filled with peace, joy, and gratitude is an understatement.
Thank you Johnathon, Courtney, and the entire WBGL team for all your prayers. Being a loyal listener for the past 18 years has made my connection to God and prayer even stronger, and your station is the vehicle that helps me to walk by faith everyday. I am grateful for all that you bring to my life through your ministry. All the glory belongs to God.
