Our newest WBGL Ministry Leader is Leah, our Engagement Director.
Leah is no stranger to ministry and marketing, and she brings so much joy and life to WBGL! She’s been a lifelong listener and fit right into the team from day one.
What brought you to WBGL and working at a Christian radio station?
I’ve been a lifelong listener of WBGL, and when this job became available, multiple people reached out to me, encouraging me to apply. I have over eight years of marketing experience, specializing in social media and graphic design. I also have a heart for serving communities and sharing the love and light of Jesus.
This role combines my skills and passions and gives me the opportunity to join a team that’s passionate about advancing God’s Kingdom. I’ve attended many concerts and events, and I love the idea of creating spaces where people can encounter Jesus and have fun!
What do you love most about Christian radio?
I love the way the music conveys truth and love—and it’s also a vibe!
What is the most fun (or one of the most fun) events you’ve ever been to?
For King & Country at the State Farm Center in Champaign. They put on an amazing show filled with musical and experiential excellence.
What Bible verse has impacted your life?
Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
What’s one thing you can’t live without and why?
My people—because they remind me who I am, laugh with me always, and make life worth living.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I’m passionate about leading worship in my local church. I enjoy all things creative—like journaling, music, and crafting—and I love spending time with my people.
Do you have a memorable moment in ministry to share with us?
I’ve had the honor of leading worship for a large conference in our community, which included powerful moments of encountering the Holy Spirit.
What little thing brings a smile to your face?
I appreciate when people remember little things about me. I love iced coffee and quality time with those I care about.
