Everyone deserves shelter and a safe place to lay their heads at night. God’s Shelter of Love offers emergency shelter to homeless women and children in central Illinois.
God’s Shelter of Love Emergency Shelter provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, case management resources, and hope to women and children. They share that for many of their residents, we are the first safe, warm place they have had to rest their head at night in months.
First established in 1991 to as a ministry for homeless women and children in Decatur, God’s Shelter of Love continues to serve the needs of homeless families and individuals and provides much-needed outreach to the neighborhood. The Shelter provides crisis intervention in the form of food and clothing, advocacy and case management, financial counseling, resource referrals, pastoral care and counseling, and a consistent support system from arrival, during, and after departure from the Shelter.
