Pastor Mark is the real deal. He talks the talk and walks the walk. He is a true man of God who lives his life in the Word. He is a disciple maker, a proactive and kind leader, a mentor to his parishioners, and an amazing asset to the Champaign-Urbana community. Pastor Mark knows no stranger. You know you are welcome and loved when you walk into New Horizon because that is how he, and the rest of the New Horizon staff and congregation, make you feel. Being raised Catholic is a very different experience. Finding Celebrate Recovery, my chosen and forever C.R. Family, New Horizon (and new church family), and Pastor Mark (and the staff of N.H.) is one of the greatest gifts God has given me and for that I am eternally grateful. Thank you Pastor Mark!!
Mary’s story
Last year was probably one of the toughest years I’ve been through in quite a while. In a four month time span, our beloved family dog passed away from cancer, my long-time job was eliminated and I was sent to a different division at the company, then my mother passed away suddenly, and I resigned at work. Life felt like it was spinning out of control and I could do nothing to stop it. However, through the grace of God, a lot of tears and questioning, plus a TON of prayer, I made it through the darkest moments. I am beyond grateful for WBGL and the consistent connection to prayer, worship music, and encouragement to find peace during the pain and confusion of life.
