Lyrics

When the night comes, when you’re all alone
When there’s trouble stirring in your soul
And if your world is falling apart
Just hold on for the morning break to dawn

Come and lay your burdens down
To the place where freedom is found
At the feet, at the feet of Jesus
Come and lay your burdens down

When the deepest sorrow weighs on your heart
When you’ve prayed for answers but the answers never come
For every tear that you cry
There’s a promise He will make your burdens light

Come and lay your burdens down
To the place where freedom is found
At the feet, at the feet of Jesus
Come and lay your burdens down

Oh, lay them down, ooh-ooh
Oh, lay them down, oh

When we see Him face to face
All our worries will surely fade away
In the presence of His glorious light
We’ll sing hallelujah to the One who gave us life!

Come and lay your burdens down
To the place where freedom is found
At the feet, at the feet of Jesus
Come and lay your burdens down
So come and lay your burdens down
To the place where freedom is found
At the feet, at the feet of Jesus
Come and lay your burdens down
Come and lay your burdens down

About This Song

I've been so excited for our listeners to hear this song from one of the first times I heard it. It's the second single from Jamie from his project, Prize Worth Fighting For. People, as a whole, report feeling more overwhelmed and stressed than at any other time in their lives. Some of these studies also reveal that teens, in particular, are experiencing this even more than adults. What is especially alarming about these studies is the percentage of people who are feeling this way has risen substantially over the past 5-10 years. People are desperately looking for relief. We know the source of that relief and hold the answer they are looking for.

"The safest place in the world to be is at the feet of Jesus. It's at the feet of Jesus that we find freedom. Where we can lay all of our burdens down. Jesus says, 'Come to me all who are heavy and I will give you rest for your soul.' And it's my prayer that you would find healing, that you would find strength, freedom and salvation at the feet of Jesus." - Jamie Kimmett
