Lyrics

Have you been praying and you still have no answers?
Have you been pouring out your heart for so many years?
Have you been hoping that things would have changed by now?
Have you cried all the faith you have through so many tears?
Don’t forget the things that He has done before
And remember He can do it all once more
It’s like the brightest sunrise
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don’t ever lose hope, hold on and believe
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
You’re closer than you think you are
Only moments from the break of dawn
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
Maybe you just haven’t seen it
He had the solution before you had the problem
He sees the best in you when you feel at your worst
So in the questioning don’t ever doubt His love for you
‘Cause it’s only in His love that you’ll find a breakthrough, oh
It’s like the brightest sunrise
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don’t ever lose hope, hold on and believe
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
You’re closer than you think you are
Only moments from the break of dawn
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
Maybe you just haven’t seen it
He is moving with a love so deep
Hallelujah for the victory
Good things are coming even when we can’t see
We can’t see it yet, but we believe that
He is moving with a love so deep
Hallelujah for the victory
Good things are coming even when we can’t see
We can’t see it yet, but we believe that
It’s like the brightest sunrise
Waiting on the other side of the darkest night
Don’t ever lose hope, hold on and believe (Don’t ever lose hope)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
(Just haven’t seen it yet)
You’re closer than you think you are (Think you are)
Only moments from the break of dawn
All His promises are just up ahead
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
(You gotta hold on, hold on)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet (Hold on)
Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet
(Just haven’t seen it yet)

About This Song

a few notes from Joe B., Music Director

"The reason I wrote this song is because when you look through characters in the Bible and see the stories that they lived - you look at Abraham, you look at Joseph, God had given them dreams and things were going exactly opposite in the way God had showed them the dream. And I know for myself that's where the root of disappointment came. When I was praying for my first wife who was going through a heart condition and when she passed away I was living an opposite reality to what I thought His Word said. God, you said You're a healer! You said if we pray that You would answer our prayers. If we had faith the size of a mustard seed. I believed I had faith. ...If you're walking in that season, don't give up yet! Had I given up in that season of the loss of my first wife. ...Had I thrown off restraint and just started living into addiction living into my feelings and go out living how I wanted to I would not be living in the promises I have today. ...You're closer to the promise than you think you are!" - Danny Gokey

There are so many who are in a season waiting for God to come through. The hardest part about the waiting is the uncertainty. I believe God will use this song to help assure those who are waiting that His promises are secure. That God has not forgotten about them, nor the work He is doing in their lives. "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." - Philippians 1:6 I really appreciate the words of Tim Keller; "God will only give you what you would have asked for if you knew everything he knows”
